How We Are Paid
Short version: businesses pay us, members never do. Some of what you see here earns us money and some of it does not, and we tell you which is which next to the thing itself, before you click it, rather than only here.
The Three Ways Money Reaches Us
- A partnership
- A business pays a monthly fee to be in front of this community. It buys presence and nothing else. It does not buy a place in the directory, it does not change the order things appear in, and it does not stop us saying something unflattering.
- A referral fee
- A business pays us when a member we sent to them becomes their customer. We are paid on the outcome, never for the click, and never a fee that depends on what you are sold or how much of it.
- A listing in Member Offers
- A business pays a flat monthly amount to publish its own offer. Those listings are written by the business, are not checked by us, and are kept deliberately separate from the directory. The page says so on itself.
What Paying Us Does Not Buy
Our directory is vetted and payment never gets a business into it. A partnership or a referral fee makes a business eligible to be considered, and our published criteria decide. The order is editorial. Nothing in it is for sale, and we do not rate or rank anyone for money.
We are not licensed to give migration, financial, mortgage, insurance, legal or tax advice, and nothing on this site is advice. We do not arrange, apply for or set up anything on your behalf. Every link hands you to the business to deal with directly, and you should check that anyone you deal with holds the registration or licence their work requires.
The One Trade That Can Never Pay Us
Poms in Perth Pty Ltd receives no payment of any kind from settlement agents for referrals. In Western Australia the Settlement Agents Act 1981 (WA) bars any reward, in money or in kind, for referring settlement work, and disclosing it would not make it lawful. Settlement agents and conveyancers can appear in our directory if they meet our criteria, unpaid, and they cannot buy a listing in Member Offers at all.
Affiliate and Network Links
Where we use a tracked link from an affiliate network, it is disclosed beside the link before you click it, it goes to the ordinary public page of the business, and it is never presented as vetted or recommended. No affiliate programme is live on this site yet. When one is, it will carry its line like everything else.
